Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has certainly one of the biggest resumes in the NBA. Recently James was selected to represent Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was the clear leader of the team and had a strong voice both on and off the court.

Team USA had one of the most dominant runs in the Olympics history. They went undefeated throughout the tournament and even won the gold medal. LeBron James won his third gold medal in the Olympics for the USA and was even announced as the Olympic MVP. He averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists throughout the tournament.

Recently former NBA star Stephon Marbury shared a harsh take on James and him winning the Olympic MVP. Marbury went on to post several comments about James through his social media platform. Marbury went on to say that James didn’t deserve the MVP award and felt the rightful contender for the MVP was Stephen Curry. Marbury even made the case for Stephen Curry being the MVP. He stated that Curry is the best shooter and in international basketball, shooting is considered one of the key skills for any star.

They gave the MVP to the wrong player. Maybe they called out the wrong time by accident. I think we need to rewind the moment when Stephen Curry displayed himself as the best shooter who ever touched the ball. In international ball, if you can’t shoot, you can’t have the ball at the end of the game…No, he [LeBron James] didn’t earn it this time.

While James won the Olympic MVP, Curry also had a strong case for winning the same. Both veterans were the key pieces for the team throughout the tournament.

LeBron James and Stephen Curry were certainly the front runners for the USA’s run in the Paris Olympics. James was certainly the leader of the team and carried the team through the group stage. Curry at the start of the tournament seemed out of form and had a bad shooting form.

In the last two games, Curry found his rhythm and managed to get back to his usual self. In the game against Serbia, the USA were down by many points and might have faced elimination. But Curry delivered one of the best performances in Olympic history and scored 36 points to secure Team USA the victory. In the finals Curry again went berserk and hit four clutch threes in the final moments of the game. Curry’s clutch performance helped Team USA secure the gold medal.
