Ethiopia’s Lamecha Girma, who won silver in the men’s 3000m steeplechase at Tokyo 2020, had to be stretchered off after tripping over a hurdle in this year’s race 💔

Soufiane El-Bakkali Mens 3000m Steeplechase Final, Lamecha Girma Injured, Kenneth Rooks Olympic 2024 Soufiane El-Bakkali wins the men’s 3000m Steeplechase Final in 8:06.05 ahead of USA’s Kenneth Rooks (8:06.41) while Kenya’s Abraham Kibiwot takes the bronze medal with 8:06.47. Leonard Chemutai  finished 15th in Men’s 3000m Steeplechase final. He suffered a fall towards the final lap but got back up and pushed through. Lamecha Girma  was unfortunately injured in another bad fall and taken away by medics. Avinash Sable came on 11 position.
